My Truth: I think I got a little too caught up in going viral.
Somewhere along the way in my content journey, I learned how to make videos that performed well on Instagram. They were usually quick, straight to the point and packed into less than 30 seconds.
And for a while, I thought I was winning because the numbers said I was.
But since getting back on TikTok, I’ve realized something: views don’t tell the whole story.
I can post a video on Instagram that gets 300,000 views and 10 comments. Then I’ll post something on TikTok with way fewer views and get 100+ comments from people sharing their opinions, asking questions and actually talking to each other.
That made me realize I don’t just want virality. I want community.
So I’m experimenting a little. I’m bringing back more of the old me: sharing stories, opinions, random finds and things I genuinely want to talk about, even if every video doesn’t get a million views.
Because I’d rather have people waiting for me in the comments than just watching and scrolling away.

I’ve been wanting to create more ways for us to actually meet each other OFFLINE, and I think this might be the first one.
Here’s the idea:
I’ll match small groups of about 6 people from a personality quiz for dinner at restaurants around Maryland + DC. You’ll meet your dinner crew, eat, talk and hopefully leave with a few new connections.
But the night doesn’t end there…
After dinner, all of the groups come together for one big afterparty. 🎉
So you get the intimacy of a small dinner without walking into a huge event alone.
And I already know some of you are going to ask, “Lisa, when are you doing one near ME?” 😂
